Well- it’s almost TIME for the Monaco F1 and I can hardly wait to see it.
I should say- I can hardly wait to see EVERYTHING!
The way they transform the city by putting a race track right through the heart of it is truly amazing. I saw a YouTube video that show’s how they set it up and how they take it down. The security and guardrails that are implemented are a marvel in themselves. The race is held on a narrow course laid out in the streets , with many elevation changes and tight corners as well as the tunnel, making it one of the most demanding circuits in Formula One. In spite of the relatively low average speeds, the Monaco circuit is a dangerous place to race due to how narrow the track is.
Most people that live there get out of town until all of us crazy F1 fanatics have returned home.
It’s a place where you need more than one set of eyes for sure.
Race cars, exotic cars. Lots of champagne. Beautiful women- mostly wearing gowns. Music. Laughter. And one that is the top for me is the sound of the engines of the Formula One cars. Well- maybe second to champagne- let’s be real. But definitely at the top.
Ohhhh and the stores… Did I mention the shopping?
It’s all the LUX of the LUX. You can watch the race on huge screen TV’s and eat one of the most delicious burgers of your life with a great order of fries- just a few feet away from the track itself, so you can hear the cars…for about $30.00.
They don’t rush you out so you can people watch in-between the excitement of the race and the delivery of yet another glass of champagne ;.)
After the race if you take a walk to the nearby Hermitage hotel you will see a fine display of exotic cars. Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maybachs and more. Apparently the town is so safe that people do not lock their cars.
Even LeClerc leaves his Ferrari wide open when he goes to sleep at night.
Imagine?
Hope to see you there.
Force Ferrari!
